On May 8, the International Nursing Society of China Nursing International Nursing Festival Celebration Conference was held in Beijing.

At the opening ceremony, the International Nursing Festival promotional short film "Ordinary Glimmer Lights Guarding for Life" specially produced by the Chinese Nursing Society was played. The young nurse presented flowers to the old leaders of the society and representatives of the Nightingale Medal winners who attended the meeting, and presented holiday blessings and high respects to them on behalf of nursing colleagues across the country.

Promoting the development of nursing science and technology, and inspiring and guiding the growth and development of nursing science and technology workers is an important function of the Chinese Nursing Society. The Science and Technology Award of the Chinese Nursing Society was approved by the National Science and Technology Award Office, aiming to reward units and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the scientific and technological progress activities of nursing in my country. It is currently the largest and most recognized science and technology award in the nursing field in China. In 2024, the Chinese Nursing Society organized the selection of the "Chinese Nursing Society Science and Technology Award", and selected 40 award-winning projects, including 2 first prizes, 13 second prizes and 25 third prizes. The conference read out the "Decision on the 2024 Chinese Nursing Society Science and Technology Award Award" and the list of winners. The leaders present awarded medals and certificates to representatives of the winners.

In order to help promote the construction of a healthy China and implement the national scientific literacy action, the Chinese Nursing Society has carried out the "Nursing Science Popularization Activities Week" activity during the annual International Nursing Festival since 2016 to guide nursing science and technology workers to participate in science popularization work. The Chinese Nursing Society’s “Nursing Science Popularization Activities Week” science popularization activities are every three years, with an activity theme set for each cycle. So far, three theme cycles have been carried out: “Healthy China Popularization Helps”, “Technology Promotes People’s Livelihood Science Popularization and Popularization of Health and Health”, and have become the Society’s brand science popularization activities. At the opening ceremony, the initiative of the nursing science popularization activity week of the theme "Popular Science and Technology Work together to Start a Smart Health" was also read, and the fourth three-year cycle activity was officially launched.

The Chinese Nursing Society established the Chinese Nursing Society Science and Technology Volunteer Service Corps in 2024. The opening ceremony of the Chinese Nursing Society's science and technology volunteer service was held at the opening ceremony. This year, the brigade will recruit and train volunteers and strive to create a volunteer service brand project.

Afterwards, the leaders of the Medical Administration Department of the National Health Commission gave a keynote speech. Professor Wu Yushao, Vice Dean of the Institute of Aging at Fudan University, and Professor Huang Zhengxing from the Institute of Artificial Intelligence of Zhejiang University gave keynote speeches.

The theme of this conference is "Gathering the strength of nurses to build health for the whole nation" and unite and mobilize the majority of nursing workers to contribute to the great cause of comprehensively promoting the construction of a strong country and national rejuvenation with Chinese-style modernization. Nearly a thousand people, including representatives of the National Nightingale Medal, directors and executive directors of the 28th Council of the Chinese Nursing Society, representatives of various branches, representatives of various provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities, and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, attended the conference on site.
