On April 23, at the 4th High-Quality Development Conference of Traditional Chinese Medicine held in Wuzhen, Zhejiang, the group standard of the Chinese Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine "Specifications for the Construction of Research-based Pharmacy Stores for Clinical Efficacy Data Collection of Traditional Chinese Medicine" (hereinafter referred to as the "Specifications") was officially released. Academicians such as Zhang Boli, Wang Qi, Tian Jinzhou, Zhu Liguo, etc. of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and other experts from Li Zongyou, Secretary-General of the Chinese Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine, attended the launch ceremony offline.
In recent years, the rapid development and application of information technology have greatly promoted the transformation of clinical research models and the transformation of research carriers. Under the framework of "patient-centered" drug research and development theory, real-world research and "decentralized" clinical research have been further paid attention to. In order to adapt to new development trends, the field of traditional Chinese medicine urgently needs to build a "decentralized" research carrier, and chain pharmacies are available carriers. Against this background, Professor Zhang Junhua, Vice President of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, took the lead in proposing the concept of "research pharmacy" and jointly carried out standardized research work with more than 20 units, aiming to ensure the standardization of research pharmacies, the traceability of research data and the controllability of research quality.
"As the terminal for drug supply and information interaction, the standardized construction of research-based pharmacies can not only provide new practical ways for clinical research of traditional Chinese medicine, but also an important part of building an evaluation system in line with the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine." Zhang Junhua said that the release of the "Specifications" marks a clear standard and guidance on the construction and management of research-based pharmacies for clinical efficacy data collection of traditional Chinese medicine.
According to reports, the newly released "Specifications" clarify the definition of research-based pharmacies. Research-based pharmacies refer to high-level pharmacies based on the supply of high-quality drugs, with the conditions and capabilities for collecting health-related information and drug feedback information, able to implement clinical research plans, and carry out real-world research on traditional Chinese medicine. It has dual attributes of drug supply terminal and information collection terminal; it has functions such as drug supply and management, data collection, and research coordination.
Zhang Junhua said that in order to better promote the implementation of the "Specification", the "Specification" will rely on academic organizations such as the Chinese Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine to promote it nationwide through institutional platforms, academic conferences, professional training, academic journals and other channels. In accordance with the requirements of the "Code", the next step will focus on the selection and construction of research-based pharmacies, and carry out exemplary research on specific traditional Chinese medicine varieties.
