28 traffic tasks help sing the "Two Cities" in Beijing and Tianjin

 The Tianjin Municipal Transportation Commission and the Beijing Municipal Transportation Commission recently jointly issued the "2025 Beijing-Tianjin Transportation Facilitation Improvement Work Plan". The plan involves seven aspects, 28 improvement tasks, including improving the layout of railway networks, strengthening urban hub functions, accelerating the construction of rail networks, improving the level of road network connectivity, enhancing road passenger transport services, optimizing transportation mode connections, and promoting smart green travel.

  The sub-center station will be completed this year

  Focusing on the improvement of the railway network layout, in 2025, the number of re-linked vehicles and logarithm of intercity in Beijing-Tianjin will continue to increase, alleviate the insufficient peak transportation capacity, and transform the rapid entry channel of Beijing South Station; study to increase the number of stops at the Wuqing Station in the Beijing-Tianjin Intercity in Wuqing Station, increase the voting amount, alleviate passenger flow pressure, and shorten commuting time.

  According to the plan, the Beijing Urban Sub-Central Station will be completed this year, providing conditions for the Beijing-Bin and Beijing-Tang Intercity Intercity to increase the number of trains entering Beijing and the increase in line capacity. The two places will also use the United Nations Railway Beijing Bureau to increase trains from Beijing to Tianjin West to use the morning and evening rush hour of the Tianjin-Xing intercity intercity to share the pressure of intercity passenger flow in Beijing and Tianjin and meet the needs of large passenger flow between Beijing and Tianjin. At the same time, accelerate the construction of the Tianjin-Wei High-speed Railway and the Beijing-Bincheng Intercity Beichen to Binhai New Section to enhance the travel service capabilities of Beijing-Tianjin.

  The functions of urban hubs will also be strengthened. According to the plan, the urban terminal of Tianjin West Station of Beijing Daxing Airport will be completed and put into use this year. Promote the rectification of traffic order around key stations such as Beijing South Station and Tianjin Station. Open and operate transportation hubs such as Wangjingxi, Wanshengxi, and Qunfang to provide convenient transportation and shuttle services for cross-regional travelers.

  Construction of Jingqin Expressway started

  The level of road network connectivity between the two places will be further improved.

  According to the plan, the construction of the G95 Capital Regional Ring Road (Tanglang Expressway Phase II) project will be started this year to improve the regional expressway network. After the high-quality opening of the Beijing East Sixth Ring Road renovation project, it is necessary to widen some sections of Tonghuai Road (Songzhuang South Street-Tongyan Expressway), alleviate traffic congestion in the urban sub-center, and improve the efficiency of roads entering Beijing. Complete the renovation and expansion project of Jingping Expressway, start the construction of the Jingqin Expressway (Airport 2 Expressway-6th Ring Road), and improve the level of cross-regional road infrastructure connectivity in Beijing and Tianjin.

  Increase the transfer rate within 50 meters of bus and subway

  Many cross-city commuters experience every day when switching between different modes of transportation. The plan specifically mentions that transportation mode connections should be optimized.

  This includes increasing the transfer ratio between Beijing buses and rails within 50 meters to 90%, improving the efficiency of public transportation connections, and reducing the cost of transfer time. Promote the integration of subway networks, suburban railway networks and bus networks to promote the interconnection and interoperability of urban transportation networks. Improve the connection roads, bus stations, taxi stops, transportation stations, P+R, B+R stations and other facilities of rail stations to serve different modes of transportation to facilitate transfer.

  Optimize automatic driving at railway stations

  Focusing on promoting smart green travel, the plan proposes to optimize 12,306 scheduled tickets, and add 10 types of scheduled tickets for passengers commuting in Beijing and Tianjin, including 10-55 times (one product every 5 times)/30 days, to accurately match passengers with differentiated needs such as daily round trips and flexible commuting.

  At the same time, the demonstration service from Beijing South Railway Station to Yizhuang Robotaxi has been opened to optimize the autonomous driving travel in the railway station scenarios, and facilitate passengers to achieve seamless connection from home to station. In order to encourage the public to travel in green and low-carbon, further expand the scope of Beijing’s MaaS green travel inclusive incentives, and give back to green travel participants through the carbon market mechanism.
