China noticed that on April 7, Eastern Time, the United States threatened to further impose 50% tariffs on China, and China firmly opposed this. If the US escalates tariff measures, China will resolutely take countermeasures to safeguard its rights and interests.

  The US imposing so-called "reciprocal tariffs" on China is groundless and is a typical unilateral bullying practice. The countermeasures China has taken are to safeguard its own sovereignty, security and development interests and maintain normal international trade order, which is completely legitimate. The US threat of escalating tariffs on China is a mistake and it has once again exposed the blackmail nature of the US, and China will never accept this.   China reiterates that there is no winner in the trade war and there is no way out for protectionism. Pressure and threats are not the right way to deal with China.
