  In the west of the Beijing Fangshan, among the towering mountains, above the gurgling river water, a "giant dragon" is passing through the mountains and waters, rushing forward. As a high-level "life channel" that is both flat and urgent, the 108 New Line Expressway opens roads across mountains and builds bridges across water. There are 41 bridges, 20 tunnels, and 9 interchange interchanges on the entire line, with a bridge-tunnel ratio of up to 88%. At present, the project has started construction of 30 bridges, 20 tunnels and 9 overpasses.

  "Drilling the Mountain" uses a batch of advanced "weapons"
  Following a newly built winding mountain walkway, I drove slowly. After reaching a platform, two holes suddenly appeared in the mountain in front of me. At this time, the mechanical roar in the cave, and the red light band contrasts with the blue "Zhushan" trolley, which is very cool. Here is the Heilongguan No. 1 Tunnel under construction of the 108 New Line Expressway, about 18 kilometers from the east starting point of the expressway. Looking from the construction platform, you can see the old National Highway 108 and its sub-line under your feet, as well as the gurgling Dashi River.

  This tunnel is located in Chenjiatai Village, with a total length of 2.6 kilometers and is divided into two holes on the left and right. In the future, it will carry traffic in four lanes in both directions. "The second-lined trolley that is working can be understood as making reinforced concrete shells for the tunnel." Huang Guowei, on-site project manager of China Railway 14th Bureau, told reporters that a batch of advanced "weapons" will be used to drill holes through the mountains. For example, an excavation trolley with two "arms" can greatly shorten the construction time and improve safety; the waterproof plate will automatically lay the trench, and like a "rolling pin", it will automatically roll the waterproof layer to flat.

  Near this hill, you can also see an abandoned lime kiln not far away. "Our construction area was once the Fangshan mining area. Although exploration and forecast were completed before construction, tunnel excavation was like "grasping melons across the skin". We still need to prevent bad geological risks at all times." Huang Guowei introduced that during the excavation process, we will use the "advanced hole exploration" technology to detect whether there is any risk within thirty or fifty meters ahead.

  The highest bridge between the two mountains

  The 108 New Line Expressway is about 60 kilometers long and runs east-west. It starts from the G5 Beijing-Kunming Expressway and goes straight to Hebei all the way west. The project is located in the mountainous area in the west, with a steep terrain and complex geological conditions. 41 bridges, 20 tunnels, and 9 interchange interchange are set up on the entire line, with a bridge-tunnel ratio of 88%. Now, all 20 tunnels on the entire line have started construction, and 30 bridges have been started.

  Building bridges when encountering water and digging tunnels when encountering mountains also means that the construction difficulty of this high-speed is extremely difficult.

  "The Puwa Bridge on the 108 New Line Expressway will become the highest bridge under construction in Beijing." Fang Rui, director of the Engineering Management Department of the 108 New Line Expressway Project Management Office of the Shoufa Construction Company, introduced that the bridge piers are as high as 96 meters and the bridge is as high as 150 meters. It will cross Ma'angou from a high altitude between two mountains. The builders must first lay two piers on the mountain, and then "hang" the bridge deck from both ends to the middle, and finally achieve "hands-in-hand". Today, the bridge is under construction.

  Whether it is crossing the abdomen of the mountain or flying across the river, it is not easy to reach the construction site. During the interview, the reporter noticed that along the construction of the 108 New Line Expressway, you can see the winding mountain roads built by the builders, as well as large equipment that are shuttled back and forth and waved its "giant arms". "In our 7th section alone, more than 600 builders have stepped up their operations, and the 143 large-scale equipment equipped on site, including rotary drilling rigs, double-arm rock drilling trolleys, etc., are constantly stopping day and night." Huang Guowei introduced.

  9 interchange interchange is convenient for travel along the route

  Before the "23·7" basin flood, there were no expressways in the mountainous areas of western Beijing, and ordinary roads were basically paved along the terrain and fluctuated, so they were more susceptible to damage when heavy rains came. This newly built expressway opens roads when crossing mountains and builds bridges when crossing water, so as to "lift" the road high to avoid heavy rainstorms destroying the road.

  The reporter learned that the 108 new line expressway crossed Dashihe 9 times, crossed the railway 4 times, and crossed the South-to-North Water Diversion Trunk Line twice. In order to improve flood control capabilities, the entire project line is designed according to the standard that it can withstand once in a century of floods.

  From the perspective of line settings, the 108 new line expressway also pays great attention to the connection with each town along the line, and has set up 9 interchanges including Hebei Town Interchange, Fozizhuang Interchange, and Xiayunling Interchange.

  It is worth mentioning that at the Fozizhuang Interchange, there is the only high-speed service area on the entire line. This 22,000 square meters service area not only has daily service content such as parking and refueling, but can also be used as an emergency command center in extreme weather such as heavy rain. In order to improve the safety of emergency response, the roadbed in this service area was specially filled in during the construction, which was 32 meters higher than National Highway 108.

  As the backbone of the "three horizontal and three vertical" road network in the mountainous areas of western Beijing, the 108 New Line Expressway takes into account the "balanced and emergency use" and will effectively improve the disaster resistance and road network resilience of the western mountainous areas after completion, and is of great significance to deepen the integration of transportation in the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, improve the flood control and flood control capabilities of the capital region, and drive the economic and social development of the regions along the route.
