Regarding the US's statement that it will impose a 104% tariff on Chinese goods, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said at a regular press conference on April 9 that the Chinese people's legitimate development rights cannot be deprived, and China's sovereignty, security and development interests cannot be violated. We will continue to take resolute and effective measures to safeguard our legitimate rights and interests.

  Lin Jian pointed out that the US is still imposing excessive tariffs on China and is putting extreme pressure on it. China firmly opposes this domineering and bullying behavior and will never accept it. If the US really wants to resolve the problem through dialogue and negotiation, it should be an equal, respectful and reciprocal attitude. If the United States ignores the interests of the two countries and the international community and insists on fighting a tariff war and a trade war, China will definitely accompany it to the end.
