CCTV News (News Network): Li Qiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council, presided over a symposium of experts and entrepreneurs in economic situation on the afternoon of April 9 to listen to opinions and suggestions on the current economic situation and the next step of economic work.

Everyone believes that since the beginning of this year, my country's economic operation has been generally stable and new. Although changes in the external environment have brought many difficulties, my country's economy has many advantages, strong resilience and great potential, and its development prospects are optimistic in the long run. Everyone also put forward opinions and suggestions on responding to external shocks and promoting the sustained improvement of the economy.

After listening to the speeches of experts and entrepreneurs, Li Qiang said that under the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, we calmly responded to risks and challenges, and the economy continued to rebound and improve in the first quarter. At the same time, we must be clear-headed that external shocks have put certain pressure on the stable operation of our country's economy. We have made a full estimate of this and are ready to deal with various uncertainties. As long as we unswervingly do our own business, we will surely promote the steady and long-term development of China's economy.

Li Qiang emphasized that we must implement more active and proactive macro policies, make efforts to promote the implementation and effectiveness of established policies as soon as possible, and promptly introduce new incremental policies according to the needs of the situation.
