Recently, the State Administration for Market Regulation (National Standards Committee) approved the issuance of the national standard "Voice Interaction Technology Part 1 of Smart Home Appliances: General Requirements" (GB/T 45354.1-2025), which will be officially implemented on September 1 this year.
This standard classifies the voice interaction functions of smart home appliances, clarifies the framework structure of voice interaction, and puts forward technical requirements in terms of structural design, security, functionality, labeling and identification.
In terms of structural design, the position design of the microphone and speakers is required to be reasonable, and sound insulation, noise reduction, shock absorption, dust prevention and other treatments should be done.
In terms of security, voice interaction functions are required to set management permissions according to different users. Voice control instructions operate within a certain security threshold range, and data that is not related to product functions should not be collected.
In terms of functionality, it is clear that voice interaction should realize functions such as voice wake-up, voice recognition, semantic understanding, voice prompts, software upgrades, etc., and put forward requirements for performance parameters such as speaker performance, wake-up success rate, and interaction corresponding time.
In terms of labeling, it is required that the voice interaction function be equipped with indicator lights, indicator icons and other prompt information after the voice interaction function is enabled, and the voice interaction logo is added to the product body, and information such as the usage method of the voice interaction function, voice pick-up distance, etc. are informed on the product manual.
After the standard is released and implemented, it will help lead the technological innovation and quality improvement of smart home appliances with voice interaction functions, meet consumers' demand for smart home appliances with voice interaction functions, and promote the growth of smart home appliance consumption.
