On the morning of April 11, Beijing Vocational University of Science and Technology, the first municipal vocational undergraduate university in Beijing, was established, opening a new chapter in the high-quality development of vocational undergraduate education in the capital.

  At the establishment ceremony, six new institutions of the school’s Robot and Intelligent Manufacturing Industry College, Low-altitude Technology Industry College, Integrated Circuit Industry College, Synthetic Biological Intelligent Manufacturing Research Institute, Big Data Finance and Economic Application Research Institute, and International Education College made their debut, and will focus on the “bottleneck” problems in key areas and form a technical research matrix that accurately matches industrial needs.

  Recently, the Ministry of Education officially sent a letter to the Beijing Municipal People's Government, agreeing to set up Beijing Vocational University of Science and Technology with the school identification code of 4111010858, and at the same time, the establishment of Beijing Electronic Technology Vocational College was abolished.

  In September this year, Beijing Vocational University of Science and Technology will welcome the first batch of vocational undergraduate freshmen to enroll in six majors: synthetic biotechnology, automotive engineering technology, mechanical and electronic engineering technology, automation technology and application, integrated circuit engineering technology, and digital media art. Each major will carry out in-depth cooperation between school and enterprise with 2 to 3 industry-leading enterprises to jointly cultivate high-end skilled talents.

  At the same time, the school plans to sign a joint school-enterprise talent training agreement with six units including Beijing New Energy Vehicle Co., Ltd., the National New Energy Vehicle Technology Innovation Center, and Beijing Yizhuang Biomedical Park in the near future, and carry out all-round and full-chain school-enterprise cooperation in key areas such as intelligent manufacturing, low-altitude economy, integrated circuits, biohealth, and new generation information technology to cultivate talents in "order-based" form.

  Beijing Vocational University of Science and Technology stated that it will make full use of new institutions to integrate the actual needs of enterprises into the entire process of undergraduate teaching and scientific research, and jointly build teaching resources and high-quality courses for schools and enterprises, so that students can participate in scientific research projects, results transfer and transformation, engineering application practice, etc. in the entire process, and continuously improve students' scientific research literacy, technical skills, innovation ability and craftsman spirit.
