U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Christy Norm confirmed on the 21st that her bag was stolen while dining at a restaurant in downtown Washington, DC on the evening of the 20th, containing important documents and thousands of dollars in cash. The restaurant involved is called "Capital Hamburger", which is very popular in the local area.

　　When asked about the stolen bag at a White House event, Norm said the case has not been solved.

　　NBC reported, citing law enforcement sources, that the U.S. Secret Service, which is responsible for Norm's security matters, checked the restaurant surveillance video, which basically restored the thief's crime. At around 19:55 ET on the 20th, a white man walked into the restaurant wearing an N95 medical mask, went upstairs and sat not far from Norm's dining table, moved the chair near her chair, and carefully reached the bag that Norm put under her seat. A few minutes later, the man succeeded, put Norm's double in his jacket, walked out of the restaurant and left the street.

　　It is reported that Norm's handbag contains documents entering and leaving the U.S. Department of Homeland Security facilities, as well as important documents such as driver's license and passport, as well as checks, apartment keys, makeup bags and more than $3,000 in cash.

　　When asked why she had so much cash in her bag, Department of Homeland Security spokesman Trisia McLaufflin said: "She's whole family is in the city, including her children and grandchildren. She uses the money to treat her family to dinner, attend events, and give Easter gifts."

　　People familiar with the matter revealed that the Secret Service has launched an investigation to closely monitor the use of Norm bank cards and will track the trends once they are found.

　　It is not clear whether the thief knows Norm's identity.

　　A person who witnessed Norm's dining at the time of the incident said at least two Secret Service plainclothes on duty were sitting at the restaurant bar, between the dining table in Norm and the front door of the restaurant.
