Qiu Yong, Party Secretary of Tsinghua University, Zhu Zhiwen, President of the Chinese Society of Education, Guan Peijun, Vice President of the Chinese Society of Higher Education, Gu Mingyuan, Honorary President of the Chinese Society of Education and Senior Professor of Beijing Normal University, attended the event. The event was hosted by Guo Yong, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Tsinghua University. An academic seminar on major issues related to building a strong country in education was held at the same time.

History of Tsinghua University's education discipline

In 1926, the first professorial review committee of Tsinghua University decided to establish the Department of Education and Psychology, which was one of the earliest 17 departments to be established.

In 1928, the Department of Education and Psychology was changed to the Department of Psychology, but education courses were still offered.

From 1937 to 1946, during the period of Southwest Associated University, the Department of Philosophy, Education and Psychology was reestablished, and later changed to the Department of Education and the School of Education.

In 1946, part of the School of Education remained in Kunming and became the predecessor of Yunnan Normal University; part of it went to Peking University to form the Peking University Education Department.

From 1949 to 1979, the school carried out a large number of educational practice research, which strongly supported the talent training work.

In 1979, the Education Research Office of Tsinghua University was established.

In 1985, Tsinghua University Education Institute was established.

In 2009, Tsinghua University Education Research Institute was established.

In 2025, the School of Education of Tsinghua University was established.
