On April 20, the "2025 China Anti-Cancer Association Integrated Science Popularization Conference" hosted by the China Anti-Cancer Association and co-organized by the China Red Cross Association General Association was held in Beijing. The conference is themed "Cancer Prevention and Treatment, Popular Science Begins", and through policy sharing, results release and project launch, it has built a multi-disciplinary and cross-field oncology popularization exchange platform.

The meeting was co-organized by the Science Popularization Committee of the China Anti-Cancer Association, the Media Communication Committee of the China Anti-Cancer Association, the Tumor Anti-Screen Committee of the China Anti-Cancer Association, and the Tumor Rehabilitation Committee of the China Anti-Cancer Association. It has one main venue and nine sub-venues. The results of the 2025 National Cancer Prevention and Treatment Propaganda Week and China Anti-Cancer Day were comprehensively summarized; a total of 64 popular science results were released; 28 popular science projects were launched.

Anchor the strategic direction and build popular science consensus

Academician Fan Daiming, Chairman of the Conference and Chairman of the China Anti-Cancer Association, recalled that the "National Cancer Prevention and Treatment Propaganda Week" initiated by the association in 1995 has developed into a "healthy festival" for the whole people to participate. Through branding, precise and three-dimensional popular science models, the concept of "tumor prevention is greater than treatment" has been deeply rooted in people's hearts.

Wang Jianwei, director of the China Center for Disease Control and Prevention, proposed three major strategies in the future: strengthen the coordination of "disease control-society-organization" and establish the "Tumor Disease Control Integration Management Committee" to improve the technical support of the entire chain; build a tumor screening and early diagnosis system to open up the "first kilometer" of prevention and control; rely on data empowerment, establish a "monitor-warning-intervention-evaluation" precise prevention and control closed loop to realize the interconnection of health records and tumor registration systems.

At the meeting, Professor Tian Yantao, Director of the Science and Publicity Department of the China Anti-Cancer Association, presided over the 2025 National Cancer Prevention and Treatment Propaganda Week and the Final Ceremony of China Anti-Cancer Day (referred to as "415"). Tian Yantao said that the 31-year history of this national science popularization brand: Since it was initiated by the China Anti-Cancer Association in 1995, the publicity week has been held for 31 consecutive years, becoming the oldest and most extensively covered "golden signboard" for tumor prevention and treatment popularization science in my country. The "China Anti-Cancer Day" (April 15) added in 2018 has made the scientific concept of anti-cancer and anti-cancer deeply rooted in people's hearts.

The 2025 publicity week is themed "CACA Guide, I know you; full management, holographic efforts". After the opening of the show in Chongqing on April 13, a series of innovative activities were carried out around the "China Tumor Integrated Diagnosis and Treatment Guide (CACA)" to drive the whole people to participate in scientific cancer prevention.

Six major projects set sail to draw a roadmap for tumor prevention and treatment

At the opening ceremony, six national-level tumor prevention and treatment and popular science projects were released in a concentrated manner, with the idea of ​​"integrating resources, sinking to the grassroots level, and covering the whole cycle" outlining a blueprint for future tumor prevention and treatment. This session was chaired by Professor Zhi Xiuyi, Executive Director of the Media Communication Committee of the China Anti-Cancer Association.

1. The National Cancer Integration Prevention and Treatment Project (2025-2030) was launched

The China Anti-Cancer Association and the China Red Cross Association General Development Center launched the national five-year plan for integrated tumor prevention and control, taking the four major actions of "science popularization, rehabilitation and assistance to the elderly, empowerment and strengthening medical care, and construction of comprehensive prevention and control zones" as a starting point, it practices the core concept of "Health is 1" and provides a practical sample for the healthy China strategy.

2. The grassroots empowerment project for tumor prevention and treatment is launched

The China Anti-Cancer Association, the China Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the China Primary Health Care Foundation jointly initiated the "Cancer Prevention and Treatment Grassroots Empowerment Project", focusing on promoting the joint construction plan of "Tumor Screening for Millions of Populations" and "Tumor Minimally Invasive Diagnosis and Treatment Center".

3. The Chinese Anti-Cancer Association Tumor Disease Control Integration Management Committee was established

With the support of the China Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the "China Anti-Cancer Association Tumor Disease Control Integration Management Committee" was officially established, with Academician Fan Daiming, Chairman of the China Anti-Cancer Association, as director, and Wu Jing, Director of the Chronic Disease Center of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, as executive director. At the establishment ceremony, Academician Fan Daiming issued a letter of appointment to the first group of members of the expert group, marking the entry of the "medical and prevention integration" into a substantive stage of promotion.

4. "Science Popular Science Series of China and Tumor Prevention and Control" was officially released

The first batch of works of "Science Popular Science China and Tumor Prevention and Control Popular Science Series" directed by the China Association for Science and Technology, organized and compiled by the China Anti-Cancer Association and the China Cancer Foundation, and published by China Science and Technology Press were unveiled. The series is edited by authoritative experts such as Professor Zhi Xiuyi and Professor Tian Yantao. It covers the prevention and treatment knowledge of 10 high-incidence cancers such as lung cancer and breast cancer, and is both scientific and readable.

5. "Know the cause of the disease, I will go first to prevent cancer" Youth health manual

In response to the lack of knowledge on tumor prevention and treatment among young people, the China Anti-Cancer Association, in conjunction with the Beijing Science and Technology Association and the Science and Technology Documentation Press, launched the compilation of the youth health manual "Knowing the Causes of Causes, I Go First to Prevent Cancer". Through the model of "educating a Student and driving a Family", the oncology popularization barrier will be moved forward to the youth group and build a solid first line of defense for health.

6. National Science Tour of Healthy China Action Cancer Prevention and Control Project Release

The "Healthy China Action Cancer Prevention and Control Project National Science Tour" guided by the National Health Commission and supported by the People's Daily Health Client was officially launched. The tour will invite experts from the National Cancer Center, China Anti-Cancer Association and other institutions to go deep into the country to conduct public welfare lectures on topics such as early screening and early treatment, precise diagnosis and treatment, and live broadcast through the all-media platform.

Dialogue with academicians, keynote reports and roundtable salons to unlock popular science innovations

During the meeting, the "Dialogue with Academicians" session was chaired by Professor Wu Yongzhong, Vice Chairman of the China Anti-Cancer Association. The academician conducted in-depth discussions on core issues in the field of tumor prevention and treatment, providing an authoritative interpretation for scientific cancer prevention.

During the keynote report, experts conducted in-depth sharing on topics such as "Popular Science and Technology Coordination", "Contact Communication Innovation from an International Perspective", and "Precise Prevention of High-Aggression Cancer", injecting diverse wisdom into the popular science of cancer prevention and treatment. This session was chaired by Professor Li Ping, Vice Chairman of the China Anti-Cancer Association.

In the popular science roundtable salon session, experts conducted in-depth interpretations of the "Core Science Knowledge of Chinese Tumor Prevention and Treatment (2025)", combining clinical practice and popular science experience, to provide professional guidance for tumor prevention and treatment and technology application. This session was co-chaired by Professor Chen Xiaobing, Deputy Director of the Science and Publicity Department of the China Anti-Cancer Association, Henan Cancer Hospital, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Anti-Cancer Association, and Professor Nie Yongzhan from Xijing Hospital of the Air Force Military Medical University. In the form of "small incisions and deep interpretation", it shows the upgrade path of oncology popularization from "flooding" to "precise drip irrigation", providing an important reference for the secondary creation and sinking of subsequent popular science resources to the grassroots level.

The 9 major sub-venues held at the same time, including CACA reading club, science popularization training camp, and chest oncology popularization, conducted in-depth discussions on topics such as "media communication", "integrated screening", and "improving diagnosis and treatment capabilities", forming a three-dimensional pattern of "the main venue leads the direction and the implementation and practice of the sub-venues".
