Full-time and space-based education new machine Beihang Primary School draws a new picture of integrated education

On April 22, the "Beijing Compulsory Education Course High-Quality Implementation Innovation Practice Seminar" hosted by the Basic Education Curriculum Textbook Development Research Center of the Beijing Institute of Educational Sciences and co-organized by the Haidian District Institute of Educational Sciences and Beihang Primary School Affiliated Primary School was held at Beihang Primary School. Leaders and experts from the education departments, universities, and scientific research institutions in Beijing, more than 100 education colleagues in the city, and more than 140 parent representatives came to the campus to experience innovative practices through offline observations; and witnessed the exploration and practice of the integrated education field of Beihang Primary School in class, between classes and after-schools.

At the beginning of the event, Beihang Primary School simultaneously opened 9 in-class courses and 5 special after-school service courses, presenting the school's "Xiaohangjia" curriculum system and the educational ecological picture of "vertical integration and horizontal integration of five educations" in a three-dimensional manner covering all subjects and displaying all academic stages.

The ringtone rang during the break, and the campus transformed into a growth magnetic field composed of six major space stations: "morality, wisdom, physical fitness, aesthetics, labor, and emotions". 1,600 varied sandbags are available for students to choose freely, and traditional games are revitalized in personalized experiences; 1,620 puzzle learning tools are distributed in public areas on all floors, triggering thinking challenges at any time; musical instrument experience areas such as ethereal drums and ukulele have become stages for artistic expression, encouraging students to create improvised; in the characteristic sea, land and air activity base, projects such as lunar base construction, intelligent car control, and space seedling cultivation experiments are carried out simultaneously, integrating scientific and technological exploration into daily practice...

The concept of "free choice, independent management, and self-creating fun" runs through the lessons. From the emotional expression wall of the platform to the labor planting area in front of the building, every corner has become an educational scene. This "everyone has a choice, can experience it everywhere, and can grow at any time" ecology not only provides students with a "energy charging station" for physical and mental adjustment, but also builds an immersive all-person development scenario, allowing every "little Hang Family" to gain respect, experience fun, and develop personality through independent exploration.

In-depth discussion and exchange: Building consensus on integrated education

At the main venue of the Starry Sky, a three-level educational dialogue between urban and district schools kicked off. The highlights of the after-school service results brought by elementary school students at Beihang University are: the "drum beating spirit" of the drum club and the drone formation dance together, interpreting the integration of traditional culture and modern technology; the "intelligent exploration of the deep sea" project of the underwater robot club ignits the enthusiasm for scientific exploration; the "blue and white elegance" personality T-show in diverse reading allows intangible cultural heritage to take root in the hearts of young people... The wonderful display of Xiaohang's families vividly interprets the practical results of the school's "full time and space education".

Wu Jianghao, vice president of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, introduced the educational concept of "full-time and space education, integrated education, and small-air families as the main body", and put forward three expectations of "reconstructing the curriculum map with a systematic thinking, optimizing the implementation path from the perspective of children, and using collaborative mechanisms to gather the joint efforts of educating people". Experts from the urban and regional teaching and research departments respectively interpreted the path of regional curriculum reform. Yang Fan of Beijing Institute of Education and Science said that Beihang Primary School has integrated its characteristic "air culture" into the curriculum texture, achieving the deep unity of "discipline logic" and "growth logic"; Lu Xiaofan of Haidian District Institute of Education and Science said that the school's "breaking boundaries, integration, and symbiosis" practice has broken the barriers to the implementation of traditional curriculum, and provided a replicable "Beihang Primary School sample" for the optimization of education structure under the background of "double reduction".

Li Lanying, principal of Beihang Primary School, combined with the school's "Aviation Culture" characteristics, conducted a theme report on "Construction and Implementation of the "Little Hang Family" Education System from the Integrated Perspective of In-class, During and After-class". In-class and after-class, we will build the four-air curriculum system of "Xiaohangjia" horizontally and vertically advance. Zhu Xudong, a professor at Beijing Normal University, affirmed the design of the recess activities of Beihang Primary School: "The six major space stations provide students with rich activity resources, present the most realistic recess style, and reflect the educational nature, freedom and interest." Wang Kai, director of the Curriculum Center of Beijing Institute of Education and Science, commented from the perspective of curriculum theory: "The school has made recesses a recess, truly realizing value restoration, and realizing an integrated innovation in the educational structure and process."
