Beijing promotes 160 major projects to start construction in the second quarter

The city has promoted the start of 160 major projects in the second quarter

In the first quarter of this year, Beijing's fixed asset investment achieved a "good start", and the start of major projects reached the best level in recent years, which strongly supported the new and positive development of the economy. The Municipal Development and Reform Commission revealed that in the second quarter, Beijing will promote the start of construction of 160 major municipal and district projects, including key projects that citizens are concerned about, such as Chaoyang Vientiane City, Fengtai Garden Expo Park Heshenghui, and Wangfujing Foreign Language Bookstore renovation.

The main body of the Tongzhou campus of the Children's Research Institute was completed

Beijing Children's Hospital and Capital Children's Research Institute are nationally renowned tertiary pediatric hospitals. Due to the small scale and shortage of resources, the old campuses of the two hospitals have been in overload operation for a long time. In the first quarter of this year, new progress has been made in the new campuses of both hospitals.

In March, the new campus of Beijing Children's Hospital in Yizhuang officially started construction. The total construction area of the new campus reaches 295,800 square meters, and 1,200 beds are planned. Among them, there are 1,000 pediatric beds and 200 obstetric beds.

The single and twin rooms in Yizhuang Campus of Children's Hospital have reserved conditions for expanding into three-bedroom rooms. When all three-bedroom rooms are available, the total beds can be increased by about 30%. In emergency situations, the beds can be expanded with the underground garage and civil defense emergency hospitals, and the total beds can be increased by 40%. The new campus is planned to be put into use in 2028, with special underground interface reserved to connect with the planned eastern extension of Line 8, S6 and the east side commercial complex.

The Tongzhou Campus of the Children's Research Institute, which was built one step ahead, has been completed in the first quarter. The old campus of the hospital is located on Yabao Road, Chaoyang District. The hospital has only 439 beds open, and the annual outpatient and emergency hospital reception is about 2.2 million. The Tongzhou Campus under construction is located in Songzhuang with a total construction area of 186,400 square meters and will have 800 beds.

The Tongzhou Campus of the Children's Research Institute will be completed in 2026. "Tongzhou Campus will become the main campus of the hospital. All the scientific research and teaching functions and some medical beds of the existing Chaoyang Campus will be relocated to the new campus, and the diagnosis and treatment conditions of the Chaoyang Campus will also be improved." A relevant person in charge of the Municipal Development and Reform Commission said.

Both children's hospitals have been included in 300 municipal key projects. In the first quarter of this year, the city's key projects completed investment support for more than 30% of the city's investment. The 120 planned new projects were started in the first quarter, the highest number in recent years. 11 projects originally planned to start construction in the subsequent quarter, including Haichang Ocean Park, Hyundai Automobile Factory Photovoltaic Project, SMC (China) R&D Center, etc., were started in advance, and the number was the highest in the same period in recent years. All 160 major municipal and district projects planned to start construction in the first quarter have been started, with a total investment of over 340 billion yuan.

Beijing Middle School Dongba North Campus is put into use in September

In the first quarter, Beijing investment paid more attention to "investment in people", and a number of key projects ushered in new progress.

"The different grades are relatively independent and resource-sharing. The junior high school and high school directly enter public areas such as swimming pools and canteens through underground corridors." Beijing Middle School Dongba North Campus will meet the conditions for opening school in September this year. Zhou Jinlong, the project manager in charge of construction, said that the Beijing Middle School Dongba North Campus, with a total construction area of more than 80,000 square meters, has an underground construction area of nearly 18,000 square meters. The main structure of the underground corridor connecting each area has been basically completed.

The planned school scale of Beijing Middle School Dongba North Campus is 78 classes. The reporter saw at the construction site that both the junior and senior high school departments have entered the facade construction stage.

Zhou Jinlong came up with a plan for campus group layout and said that on campus, different grades are relatively independent and resource-sharing, which can maximize the flexibility, universality and complexity of teaching space. The school has specially designed and built the first floor elevated space, the first floor roof activity platform, the semi-outdoor space under the roof, etc., which not only improves the efficiency of land use, but also expands the scope of students' activities.

After the completion of this project, it will alleviate the shortage of degrees in Dongba area, promote the high-quality and balanced development of compulsory education, and serve the construction of the "two districts" and the Fourth Embassy District.

Beijing's first Vientiane City will start construction

There are also a large number of key projects "on the road" -

In the second quarter, the Wangfujing Foreign Language Bookstore, which is familiar to citizens, will be upgraded and renovated, with a construction scale of about 12,000 square meters. After the renovation is completed, it will have functions such as book sales, exhibitions, and cultural exchanges.

The first Vientiane City in Beijing, which was approved previously, and Hoshenhui, located in Fengtai Garden Expo Park, will also start construction in the second quarter. The former has a scale of 276,000 square meters, while the latter has a construction scale of about 83,000 square meters, meeting the consumption needs around Chaoyang Station and in the Hexi area of Fengtai.

Two major logistics facilities will be implemented in Fangshan in the second quarter: the construction scale of the smart logistics center of the Southwest Beijing Comprehensive Logistics Hub (Phase I) is about 141,000 square meters, and a multimodal smart logistics hub park will be built; the first launch of the Southwest Logistics Park quality upgrade project is about 24,000 square meters, including warehousing and supporting facilities.

In addition, the comprehensive maintenance and renovation project of the west campus of Beijing No. 2 Middle School Branch will also be launched, mainly for building facade repair, internal renovation and equipment renewal; the junior high school of the 11th School located in Wangsiying Township, Chaoyang District will be started, with a total construction area of 40,000 square meters; the construction project of 1.726,000 square meters of Baishan Suburban Park (Phase I) will also be started in Baishan Town, Changping District.

"We will seize the golden period of project construction in the second quarter, do a solid job in service and guarantee, and promote the start of construction of a number of major projects." Wang Danli, director of the Investment Department of the Municipal Development and Reform Commission, said that the city will focus on promoting the creation of new investment growth points in key areas such as the Plain New City, and continue to promote the stable growth of investment in key industries and urban renewal investment. At the same time, a number of major projects will be promoted to private capital in the first half of the year, and continue to stimulate the vitality of private investment. (Cao Zheng)
