Russian media: Putin talks about new achievements and goals for Russian weapons research and development

According to the Russian website of Pravdale of the Communist Youth League on April 24, at the meeting of the Russian Military Industry Commission held on the 23rd, all parties discussed what weapons the Russian army lacked and how the armed forces should develop. The meeting was chaired by President Putin himself.

Putin first mentioned that military-industrial enterprises are currently operating at full capacity or even overload. Almost all defense order tasks were completed last year, and there were even excesses. The troops have received more than 4,000 combat vehicles, 180 aircraft and helicopters, from armored personnel carriers to tanks, and the front line can obtain 4,000 first-person perspective (FPV) drones every day.

The president acknowledged that despite all his strength, drones remain short. He pointed out: "The officers and soldiers on the contact line are looking forward to these drones. They have become a key factor in the victory of the battlefield today."

The continuous linkage between frontline commanders and engineers has shown results. Military equipment is achieving real technological breakthroughs, and many R&D results are unique, some of which are even the world's firsts. To this end, Putin thanked the engineering and technical personnel in particular: "I would like to emphasize that the experience we have accumulated in special military operations, whether at the tactical level or the development of weapons and equipment, is no exaggeration to say that it is now becoming the research object of all military forces, international arms giants and high-tech companies around the world. We must take a step forward."

The front-line tactics have undergone subversive changes, tank offenses have lost their meaning, and the advantages of drones have become the key to winning. Putin assigned the following tasks: "Update the teaching syllabus of military academies, junior officer schools and non-commissioned officer schools based on practical experience, and at the same time, the Army Operations Regulations are deeply revised, covering all levels from squads and platoons to corps and gangs and various types of troops."

Another global task is to study and predict the war form in 5, 10, and 15 years later. At present, military evolution is accelerating.

Putin emphasized: "The production of various robot systems must be accelerated, and the development of marine equipment such as unmanned boats is necessary. The most promising direction is the development of artificial intelligence. The second is the development of laser weapons. The speed of light is unmatched, which means that laser weapons are expected to become the core of the new generation of air defense systems. The practical task at the moment is to develop laser systems that can destroy various targets such as drones. In the future, the targets will also be expanded to fighter jets, missiles, etc.."

Satellites have become the core of all wars: communication and communication depend on it, target locking cannot be separated from its help, warning of enemy attacks and reconnaissance also depends on it. Putin ordered: "The formation of an orbital formation composed of spacecraft of different functions must be completed, so that full-dimensional reconnaissance and all-weather encrypted communication can be achieved in complex interference environments, thereby building a modern military real-time command system and greatly improving the combat strength of the troops."

In addition, Russia has its own hidden ace, and no one has ever mentioned the relevant weapon systems and test samples. Putin emphasized: "Our scientific research center and design bureau are developing them. What we are showing today is new weapon systems. Please be sure to analyze them carefully and do not give up easily." (Translated by Tong Shiqun)
