April 25 is the National Vaccination Day, and this week is also the World Immunization Week. The northern hemisphere flu season has come to an end, while the southern hemisphere flu season has just begun. According to the official website of the Chilean Ministry of Health, the influenza vaccination rate set by Chile for the target population this year has reached 85%. As of April 17, more than 5 million people in Chile have been vaccinated against influenza nationwide.
It is worth mentioning that all the influenza vaccines that the Chilean government plans to immunize the people of the country in 2025 will be supplied by China Sinovac.

In order to effectively deal with the seasonal high incidence of respiratory diseases, the Chilean Ministry of Health launched the "2025 Vaccination and Immunization Campaign" on March 1, 2025. The campaign developed immunizations for target groups are free of charge and are conducted at over 1,000 locations nationwide, including the entire public network and collaborative private sites. Vaccinations include influenza vaccine, respiratory syncytial virus vaccine, whooping cough and pneumococcal vaccine.
In order to help the "2025 Vaccination and Immunization Campaign", Chilean officials and celebrities from all walks of life have been leading the vaccination in public.
At the launch ceremony of the "Chile Vaccination and Immunization Campaign in 2025" in early March, government officials and entertainment stars including Chilean Health Minister Ximena Aguilera, Deputy Minister of Healthcare Network Osvaldo Salgado, Education Minister Nicolás Cataldo, Public Works Minister Jessica López, and other government officials and entertainment stars were present. These well-known figures were vaccinated on the spot. On April 10, Chilean President Gabriel Boric received the flu vaccine on site during a vaccination event.
It is understood that Chile's total population is about 20 million, and the country's total influenza vaccine vaccination rate is nearly 50%. The Chilean Ministry of Health recommends that the target population of influenza vaccination include health workers, children from 6 months to 5 years old, elderly people aged 60 and above, patients with chronic diseases, pregnant women, teachers of preschool education and school education, and staff of nursing homes.
