In Wagner's opera Valkyrie, "Valkyrie's Riding" is the most well-known classic excerpt. On the stage of the National Grand Theater Opera House, the magnificent imagination in the music becomes concrete: the mountains rise, the goddess soars, and the images turn into dense ghostly jungle. Tomorrow, the National Grand Theater's opera "Valkyrie" will premiere. At present, the crew has entered the final rehearsal stage. During the media visit event held a few days ago, the main artist showed some of the clips in the play in advance.
Continuing last year's "Gold of Rhine", "Valkyrie" is the second work in the Wagner quadruple series "The Ring of Nibelungen" launched by the National Grand Theater. This masterpiece is a collection of international creative teams led by the well-known conductor Pitari Inkinen and the famous opera director David Levimore. The curtain is opened, and the magical mythological world has set off a strong part.
"We use many high-tech means, but all technologies serve the work itself. No technology exists in isolation from the plot and purely for 'showing skills'," said David Levimore. One of the stage designs of this version of Valkyrie, Italian stage designer Eleonora Peronetti, "spoiled" more highlights. For example, in the beginning, the projection on the multimedia screen will echo the Valkyrie and "Gold of Rhine"; the important scenes of Hongding's wooden house are covered with scorched trunks and twisted roots, but there is a unique world inside. Peronetti believes that when it cuts open the shiny and vibrant flowers and plants in it, the audience will definitely feel the light. At the same time, the opening and closing of the tree house will also reflect the emotional direction of the male and female protagonists Zigmund and Ziglind; the most anticipated "Valkyrie's Riding" will combine multimedia projection, wired installation, pantomime actor performance and female singing, presenting a shocking audio-visual effect.
"With the design draft, we will first make manual models in Italy, and then send them to China through scanning and conduct on-site production to achieve long-distance design cooperation," said Peroneti. Including Italy, the Valkyrie crew brought together artists from seven countries, including China, Finland, Italy, the United States, Germany, Latvia and Poland. During the May Day holiday that is coming soon, this huge blockbuster will become a music event on the Beijing stage.
It is reported that the full performance of "Valkyrie" will last 5 hours, and the start time will be advanced to 17:00. The performance consists of two intermissions, totaling about 70 minutes, and the National Grand Theater will provide ticket-buying audiences with free light meals containing customized elements of opera.
